ZAuction FAQ
Items offered for sale in ZAuction are placed on a public auction block for a set minimum period of time. The seller is required to leave the item open for bid for the entire bidding period to give you every opportunity to place your bid.

Bids are
placed online. At the end of the bidding period, the highest bid wins the
purchase. Click-N-Buy helps
you with the auction process by providing bidding assistance:
o Automated Bidding - Monitors the bidding process for you and raises your bid automatically, up to the maximum amount you set. Instead of you returning to the site to “out bid” the latest offer you can simply place the maximum dollar amount that you are comfortable paying for the item and when someone outbids your “current” offer the system will automatically submit the next minimum amount for you. If the current bid goes higher than your maximum amount you will be notified that you have been outbid and you can then return to the site and place an additional bid. Your maximum amount will never be displayed and you will not have to pay your maximum amount if it never reaches that high. As long as the item reserve has been met (roughly half of the retail value) and you are the displayed current bidder you will win that auction item at the current bid amount. o
Reserve Amount – All items have a reserve amount or lowest dollar amount that it will take to win that item. Each item is set at roughly half (1/2) of the retail value listed for the item. If you are the current high bidder and your bid is above 50% of the retail value when the auction closes you are required to purchase that item. Note:
You can change your Maximum Bid at any time. |
o Overtime Extension - Extends the auction timeline when there is last-minute bidding activity within 5 minutes of bid closing. This provides you with every chance to be the winning bidder.
Layout for Storefront Auctions

Storefront Auction Ads have five main sections:
o Item Description - Provides a text description, thumbnail image, price, and quantity available.
o Bid Status - Provides information about the bidding:
o
Current Bid - Displays the
dollar amount of the highest bid to date and time.
o Time
Left - Displays the number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds left
in the bidding period.
o Auction
Ends - Displays the date and time the bidding period stops.
o High
Bidder - Displays the Display Name and User
Rating of the person who has placed the highest bid.
o Bid
History - Displays the number of bids that, when clicked, presents the
Bid
History page displaying each bidder's Display Name,
User
Rating, Bid, and Date.

|
o Place a Bid - Provides a tool for you to submit the highest dollar amount you are willing to pay. Click-N-Buy monitors the bidding process and automatically places your first bid at the lowest possible amount that is one increment above the current high bid. Each time the bid is raised, Click-N-Buy raises your bid one increment over the new bid. When someone places a bid that is higher than your Maximum Bid, the system will notify you by email that you have been over bid; thus giving you an opportunity to reset your Maximum Bid. |
o Seller Information (updated 9-1-09) - Some of these links are inoperable as described on the auction page. The auction was originally created and set up for one merchant however the station is acting as the merchant for all items and therefore the emails are being directed to the station group (Fox 11-KMSB) and not the mentioned merchant. For this we apologize and will ask that you please allow extra time for your email to be answered as we will forward to the appropriate parties. You are encouraged to contact the store directly via the web link, phone number and or address listed in the item description for technical and or specific item related questions.
o Images - Provides thumbnail photos that can be enlarged for a better view of the item.

To Change Your Maximum Bid - with Item Details Page
When you place your bid for an Auction item, you enter your Maximum Bid - the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the auction item. Click-N-Buy monitors bidding for the item and, each time your bid is overbid, it ups your bid incrementally. (Bid increment is set by the seller.) Once bidding reaches your Maximum Bid, your Bid Status for the item is changed to Outbid and an email notification is sent notifying you of the Outbid status. This gives you an opportunity to raise your Maximum Bid and remain in the bidding with a possibility of winning the bid and the item.
You can also change your Maximum Bid through My Purchases. See page 66.
